Time is money. Don't miss your big opportunity so always be early. Apply for positions as soon as they are listed or you get a notification. Call and email back replies to HR reps as soon as possible. With so many people looking for jobs sometimes it just comes down to timing. If you are the first or early to apply, reply or get back to someone you might have an advantage especially if the position needs to be filled quickly. Don't waste time!

Reminder Interview Tips

I recently read an article about interview tips and thought I'd share some reminders tips as you prepare for your interviews some of which I have featured on this blog before.

Dress to impress, bring multiple copies of your resume and references, research the company, practice general interview questions, prepare a short bio, ask questions of your own at the interview and send follow up thank you notes.

Simple but sometimes overlooked interview tips can always help when you least expect them too.

Have a Plan B

In a tough job market like these days it can take an extended amount of time to find a job in your field. If you are still not working and bills are piling up you might need to take a part-time job, general labor job or something to hold you over. Don't get in over your head, plan ahead and know your financial situation at all times. Be realistic and know when it's time to pick up an alternative job. Always have a plan B.
