Look for jobs that others may not want to do. These jobs are often easier to find, some pay good and they may also lead to other jobs and opportunities. Check out jobs like garbage person, traffic director for road construction, paper delivery person, etc. Just get out there and do it until something better comes along and who knows you may even like your new job.

Freelancer

Do you have good computer and technical skills? Do you have some extra free time for small projects? If you answered yes to either or both questions check out Freelancer.com. Media Bistro

Media Bistro was recently ranked a top ten job search engine based on US website traffic. Media Bistro is centered around media and journalism professionals and does list jobs, courses and much more! If this is your field of work definitely check out this website.

Part Time Jobs

If you find yourself looking for a little extra money or need a second job check out Part Time Jobs. Post your resume and search for part time jobs by keywords and location.

Backpage.com is a website that features free classified ads that can be searched by location and then has several topics to choose from including jobs. Search for jobs in accounting and finance, customer service, part-time, real estate, sales and many more.

I recently found another job search engine called Job Hat. Create an account and then start searching for jobs, submit a resume, compare salaries and more. Very easy to use and a new source for your job search.

Net-Temps

Check out Net-Temps for temporary, temp-to-perm and full-time jobs through staffing agencies all through this job board. Search for jobs, post a  resume and more.

Build Life Experiences with the Peace Corps

If you have the time and money to take off from a traditional job and looking to make an impact within the world and add something unique to your resume and life experiences then check out volunteer opportunities with the Peace Corps. Volunteers work with schools, non-profits and governments on social and economic development in countries around the world. This can be the experience of a lifetime and might find you new opportunities or interests in the future.

Do Whatever it Takes

If times are getting tough and you still have not found employment do whatever it takes! Don't be above certain opportunities because they are below your normal educational or employment background. Times are tough and sometimes we just need to suck it up. Paying your bills, providing for your family and general survival are more important than your temporary status or employment. Check out Hiringlocally.com for jobs in your area. Search by zip code and work interest and get started. You do have to sign up but who knows what you may find in your area.

Jobsearcheasy.com is just that, an easy place to work on your job search. Search for jobs by location and occupation, post your resume, set job alerts, find resources like resume critiques and much more.

Corn on the Job

I recently found an interesting and upbeat job website called Corn on the Job. They have a wealth of articles, resources and plenty more to keep you headed in the direction of your next job.

Use the Resources of your Local Unemployment Office and State Website

Check out your local unemployment office to see what services they may provide. Most offices have computers for job searching and research, books on resume writing and much more. Also check out the unemployment website for your state which should have a section for job openings and more. Your local and state unemployment resources are there to help you.

Check out job search engine NationJob.com to search for jobs, subscribe to email job alerts, career resources and more.

YouTube

If you're looking for a unique way to find a job try using YouTube. With this generation growing up online more and more people are using social media including videos posted on YouTube. This can show your creativity and it's more personal. It's a great way to promote yourself and you never know who might see it at anytime 24 hours a day. I have actually seen some companies ask for a short video for some job listings. Use your creativity and you never know it might go viral which could lead to all kinds of possible opportunities.

Stop looking for a job and create your own. Everyday people are starting their own businesses but this is not for the faint at heart and takes a lot of work. Usually this takes a good working business plan and some sort of finances in place. With the job market being so bad many older workers are finally making the career change to entrepreneur and good luck to all of them.
