Keep your credit rating and history good. What does this have to do with your job search? More and more companies especially financial firms are checking your credit history during the background check. They use the assumption that good credit means you are more trustworthy, responsible and a better candidate to hire. Times can be tough when unemployed but be sure to keep your payments current to keep your good credit rating.
